Bio
I never knew I had the talent of storytelling until I had my first baby boy seven years ago! I started building an Arabic library for him at home and reading to him each day. He was so fascinated with each story and throughout the day I noticed that he would use the new vocabulary he learned in the stories! When he turned three, he was speaking Modern Standard Arabic fluently with very minimal grammar mistakes! From that experience, I realized the importance of storytelling. I have four kids now and they understand and speak fusha as I have continued to read to them on a daily basis. As my kids grew up and started having friends, I started to bring books with me to their playdates and began reading stories to the other kids at the park. With that, I began to build my experience in dealing with different age groups and Arabic levels. Since then I’ve expanded my audience and become a storyteller at Jarir Bookstore and Anaheim Public Library-Haskett Branch. You can check out my Facebook page or my Youtube channel to see me in action!
